MORNING PRAYER

In the name of the Father and of the Son
and of the Holy Spirit. Amen.
I thank You, my heavenly Father, through
Jesus Christ, Your dear Son, that You have kept me
this night from all harm and danger; and I pray
that You would keep me this day also from sin and
every evil, that all my doings and life may please You.
For into Your hands I commend myself, my body and soul,
and all things. Let Your holy angel be with me, that
the evil foe may have no power over me. Amen.

MARTIN LUTHER'S EVENING PRAYER

In the name of the Father and of the Son

and I pray that You would forgive me all my sins where
I have done wrong, and graciously keep me this night.
For into Your hands I commend myself, my body and soul,

the evil foe may have no power over me. Amen

PRAYER FOR THE SICK

Dear gracious Father, around us in the world, among us in
our circle of friends and family, and next to us at the work
place are those whose bodies are weary from illness, disease,
and infirmity. Bear them up in Your arms, for You can heal,
comfort,and restore. Give health again where it is Your will.
Give patience or forbearance where the road is long or
even seems endless. And to me grant both the will and ability
to bear with others their burdens and stand at their side to
comfort, to cheer, and to assist them. When, according to Your
plan, the ill return to health, move them to sing Your praise.
In Jesus' name. Amen.

PRAYER FOR COURAGE

Lord God, sometimes I feel so frightened by all the challenges
and uncertainties of this life. By the power of Your Holy Spirit
fill me with courage to face each day in Your strength. I thank
You for Your promise to love me, walk with me, and be my ever-present
help in time of danger. You have promised that nothing can separate
us from Your love. Help me to call on Your name, pray, praise, and
give You thanks. As Your Son called on You in His hour of trial, I ask for courage to surrender all things to Your hands and gracious will.
In Jesus' name. Amen.

My God, I pray to You each night
For strength to make my way
And for the courage I will need to
Face the coming day.
My God, I ask You to instill within
My searching heart
The faith to journey through this
Life with goodness to impart.
Control my speech and inner
Thoughts so I can foster right
Direct my steps toward the path to
Your eternal light
Grant me the power to follow
Examples that You teach
For only in this way will I keep
Heaven within my reach
My God, I need your tender love
Each moment that I live
With You beside me life will be a
Wondrous narrative.
Please listen to my humble prayer
And help me as I plod
You are the truest Friend I have,
My Master and My God-
